Automotive

McKee’s New York State and A.S.E. approved Automotive Technology program uses the A.S.E. (Automotive Service Excellence) General Service/Light Maintenance and Repair Technician Program curriculum. A.S.E. sets national standards for the content of instruction, which includes tasks, tools and equipment, hours and instructor qualifications. The approved curriculum covers Electronic Systems including ABS (braking), Air Bag/SRS, Fuel Injection and Sensor Theory plus analysis and testing of related onboard Computer Functions, Steering & Suspension, and Brake systems. These skills will give our students a solid foundation to gain entry into the Automotive Service Field.  The instructors for the program are ASE certified for all the courses they teach, and they continue to update their skills with professional development classes throughout their career.

All students have the opportunity to participate in a paid internship with one of our many business partners. This list includes, Millers Tug and Barge, Island Auto Group, DANA Ford/Lincoln, just to name a few.

Ralph R McKee’s Automotive program also has an Articulation with Universal Technical Institution, Lincoln Tech, Ohio Technical College, and New England Technical College. These post-secondary institutes offer McKee grads a significant reduction in tuition upon their graduation.
